The Ospreys came home to St Helen's with a five-try, bonus-point win over the Dragons. The 31-14 United Rugby Championship victory was their first match at the redeveloped Swansea ground, which they left in 2005.

Heavy rain and wind made it hard going for the 5,592 supporters and the players. The Ospreys led 19-7 at the break, with the Dragons' only first-half points coming from wing Rio Dyer on the last play of the half.

Their driving line-out was behind two of the five tries: it won a penalty try and set up a score for Ross Moriarty. Anzelo Tuitavuki scored the Dragons' second try and Tinus de Beer converted both, but the visitors spent long periods a man down. Rhodri Williams, De Beer and Aneurin Owen were all sin-binned.

The Dragons also lost two Wales internationals during the match. Dyer, who has been recalled by Wales, did not come back out for the second half. Captain Ben Carter, a Wales lock, went off with a head injury early in the second half.

About 21 years since they left

The win marks the Ospreys' return to St Helen's as their home ground about 21 years after they left.

The move back is part of a step down in size. The Ospreys left the Swansea.com Stadium in 2025 and played the 2025-26 season at Bridgend's Brewery Field.

It is the end of a long run away from home. In their first month of the season, the Ospreys travelled more than 10,000 miles, with matches in Durban, Johannesburg, Tbilisi and Newport.
