Ireland captain Dan Sheehan was taken off for a Head Injury Assessment in the first half of the 42-12 win over Argentina, one of several knocks that will concern the team before their next match.

Ireland beat Argentina in a Nations Championship match at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Friday 6 November 2026, scoring six tries to two. Sheehan was replaced by Ronan Kelleher in the 35th minute. The Irish Examiner reported that the hooker came off after Argentina's replacement hooker Leonel Oviedo tackled him illegally on the ground. The Independent reported that Andy Farrell said Sheehan "seems fine".

Sheehan was not the only player with a concern. Baloucoune, Hansen, Sean Jansen and Josh van der Flier also picked up knocks, according to The Independent, and Ruck reported that Van der Flier had an ankle problem. That gives Ireland injury concerns before the game against Fiji next weekend.

Farrell also reflected on the game. He said: "the story of the game is we missed a chance to be ruthless."

Hugo Keenan scored a hat-trick in the win. He said: "It's been 21 months since I've been here [Aviva Stadium] in green and it's been tough watching on." Full details are in our Ireland vs Argentina result report.
