Wallaroos vs Black Ferns to follow Bledisloe in Anzac Day double-header

The O'Reilly Cup Test will be played at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Sunday 25 April 2027, a year after the two sides met on Anzac Day on the Sunshine Coast.

The women's trans-Tasman rivalry will have the last word at Suncorp Stadium on Anzac Day 2027. The Wallaroos and Black Ferns will play an O'Reilly Cup Test in Brisbane on Sunday 25 April, taking the field once the Wallabies and All Blacks have finished the first Bledisloe Cup Test ever staged on Anzac Day.

The fixture was formally announced at ANZAC Square in Brisbane on Wednesday 28 October. Rugby Australia chair Daniel Herbert and Wallaroo Dillyn Blackburn were among those at the launch, which turns the Bledisloe date into a double-header for both countries' men's and women's teams.

"It's a first-of-its-kind event, and it will draw in huge numbers of rugby supporters from both sides of the Tasman," Herbert said.

A new chapter for the men

The men's match was confirmed in June. It will be the first time the All Blacks and Wallabies have met on Anzac Day in a rivalry that goes back 123 years. Australia go into it on a 13-match losing streak against New Zealand, and the meeting comes ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup, where the two sides are drawn together in Pool A.

Women's Test grows its stage

For the women, Anzac Day is already on the calendar. The Wallaroos and Black Ferns played an O'Reilly Cup Test on the same day in 2026, when 5,508 fans turned up on the Sunshine Coast. Next year's game moves to Suncorp Stadium and will share the bill with the Bledisloe Cup.

It also comes at a turning point for the Wallaroos. Their programme is due to go fully professional before the end of 2026, so the Brisbane Test will be one of their first as a full-time side.

"It means a lot to have Black Ferns, All Blacks, Wallaroos and Wallabies all in one space," Blackburn said.

Queensland Sport Minister Tim Mander said the event would help build momentum towards the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Sales of tickets for the Wallabies' 2027 matches open on Thursday 29 October at 12pm AEDT.
