Newcastle vs Sale team news: Curry brothers reunited as Wade eyes Prem record
Christian Wade starts on Newcastle's wing on 100 Prem tries, one short of Chris Ashton's record, when the sides meet at Kingston Park at 20:45 SAST on Friday 23 October.

For the first time since June 2025, Sale will run out with Tom and Ben Curry side by side in their starting back row, and the brothers' return lands on a night when the Newcastle winger opposite them has a piece of Prem history in reach.
Newcastle host Sale at Kingston Park on Friday 23 October, with kick-off at 19:45 BST, which is 20:45 SAST. The visitors have made four changes to their starting line-up, and the Currys are the headline.
Two long roads back
Both brothers have spent much of the past year on the sidelines. Ben Curry is making his first league start of the season after a hamstring problem kept him out of almost all of last season.
Tom Curry has managed only three games since February, and the timing of his return matters beyond Sale. He is back in the side days before Steve Borthwick is due to name his England squad for the autumn, BBC Sport reported.
Wade one try from Ashton
At the other end of the pitch, Christian Wade starts on the wing for Newcastle with 100 Prem tries to his name. He reached that century in Newcastle's last match, against Exeter.
That leaves him on the brink of the all-time mark. One more try would draw him level with Chris Ashton's record of 101, and two against Sale would take him past it.
Newcastle also welcome back two players from injury. Centre Will Rigg returns after being out since early September, while full-back Josh Hodge makes his first Prem start after recovering from a broken hand.
The score from Kingston Park will appear with the rest of the weekend's rugby results, and the coming rounds are listed on our rugby fixtures page.
