The All Blacks are mourning head of security Logan Cadwallader, who died suddenly at the team's hotel in Edinburgh after a medical event. The Independent and WalesOnline both reported the news.

For a decade, Cadwallader had been involved with the All Blacks set-up, and he went on the road with the squad for that whole period. He served in the New Zealand Army and the NZSAS, with deployments including Bosnia, East Timor, Afghanistan and the Solomon Islands. He is survived by his wife Nannette and children Trey, Brooke and Mia.

Jason Ryan said: "I can tell you that the team is heartbroken." Dave Rennie said: "He was the ultimate team man, loved and trusted by all and a true professional."

The squad is in Edinburgh preparing for a Nations Championship Test against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday 7 November 2026.

New Zealand Rugby is supporting Cadwallader's family, as well as players and staff, and asked that the family's privacy be respected. For more, see our pro rugby news.
