Vianca Boer will lead a largely inexperienced Springbok Women's Sevens 'A' side at the Rugby Africa Women's Sevens in Kenya, according to SuperSport.

Head coach Cecil Afrika has picked a relatively young group, and Boer is one of only four squad members with HSBC SVNS experience. Afrika said: "We opted for a younger group of players and will use this opportunity to develop them". He was also clear about the ambition: "We are not going there to lose".

South Africa are in pool A with Zambia, Zimbabwe and Rwanda. One qualifying spot for the HSBC SVNS 3 series is available in Nairobi, though South Africa have already secured a place in the HSBC SVNS 2 series, which starts in January.

Boer, Jané Mulder, Shanidiné Bezuidenhout and Owami Mohuli all belonged to last season's group that booked a place in the SVNS World Championship series. Four squad members recently played for the Junior Springbok Women, and Voice Ndou returns to national colours after sitting out the required period.

The squad departed Cape Town on Wednesday 4 November 2026. For more on the national side, see Springboks news.
