Ellie Kildunne on bench in Red Roses team for Canada rematch in Ottawa

Head coach John Mitchell makes four changes after the 24-21 defeat that ended a 41-match unbeaten run, and Emma Sing starts at full-back.

England have moved Ellie Kildunne out of the starting XV and onto the bench, and Emma Sing will wear the No 15 jersey when the Red Roses meet Canada again in Ottawa.

The selection follows a 24-21 defeat by Canada on Friday 16 October. That result ended England's 41-match unbeaten run and was their first loss in four years. The Ottawa game is the third and final Test between the two sides, and it gives England their last chance in the series to answer that result.

Four changes to the starting XV

Kildunne's move is one of four changes head coach John Mitchell has made to his starting line-up. Two backs who started the defeat are out of the matchday squad altogether. Wing Claudia Moloney-MacDonald makes way for Gloucester-Hartpury's Mia Venner, and Helena Rowland comes in at inside centre for Tatyana Heard.

Venner, 24, finished last season as the PWR's joint top try-scorer with 12 tries, BBC Sport reported.

The fourth change is in the back row. Sadia Kabeya starts at openside flank and Alex Matthews drops to the bench. The replacements also include two new half-backs, Exeter's Flo Robinson and Sale's Hollie Aitchison.

Mitchell looks for a response

Mitchell put the loss in the second Test down to his side's own failings. "Last Friday, we lost sight of what we could control when it mattered most. That's on us to fix," he said.

He also made clear that the long unbeaten spell counts for nothing in Ottawa. "We've earned a strong period but nothing about it is owed to us going forward," he said.
